Dramatic Rescue of Passengers from Sinking Bus on National Greek Highway (photos)

Firemen rescued a dozen passengers from a bus that was travelling from Athens to Corinth, when the vehicle was swept away by river of water, due to extreme storm conditions.

According to eye witnesses, the passengers were saved in the nick of time by the emergency services who had to break the windows of the vehicle, so as to free those trapped inside.

The bus was eventually submerged in water.

The incident happened on the old national highway that links the Greek capital with the town of Corinth in the Peloponnese.

At least four people died in the town of Mandra, west of Athens as storms continue to batter Greece.
