A top EU official on Thursday said Greece would not need more emergency financing once its bailout program ends in August this year.

European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs Pierre Moscovici told reporters in Athens that there would not be a “fourth bailout”.

However, speaking earlier, he said “there is also a need for an appropriate form of post-program supervision” once Greece exits its current bailout.

Moscovici was speaking after a meeting with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

The news comes as Greece attempts to return to the international markets, issuing a seven-year syndicated bond.

A Eurogroup Working Group meeting later on Thursday is expected to discuss fulfilling Greece’s last remaining prior actions, paving the way for a formal completion of the program and approval of the disbursement of a loan tranche.
