Victims of Agia Zoni II Oil Spill Can Now Receive Compensation

Those who suffered losses due to the pollution caused by the sinking of the Agia Zoni II oil tanker off the coast of Salamis in the Saronic Gulf, can now receive compensation, a Kathimerini report says.

Compensation to those affected by the oil spill has been approved by the International Oil Pollution Compensation (IOPC) Funds. Claimants can seek information on the IOPC Funds website in both English and Greek.

The committee agreed earlier this month in London that 26 million British pounds will be allocated to those affected, while another 25 million will be made available in 2018, the Kathimerini report said.
