Archaeological Museum of Arta
Since 1973, the Archaeological Museum of Artahas been housed in the Trapeza (dining room) of the Paregoretissa Monastery, a building of the 13th century. The 12th Ephorate of Antiquities is already planning the construction of a new archaeological museum in the city of Arta.
The exhibition includes three major sections: the public life, the cemeteries and the private life of the Amvrakiots, while at the beginning and the end of it are the smaller sections of the introduction and the “end of Amvrakia” respectively. For the development of the permanent exhibition of the museum, the space provided for this purpose by the architectural building study, as well as part of the corridor to the left of the entrance, and the atrium space are used. In the main exhibition area a small space of periodical exhibitions was foreseen, which was not foreseen in the original plans of the museum.
