The Basketry Museum of Komotini was founded and managed by the Thracian Society.The emergence of plastic and the change in socioeconomic conditions in the 1950s and 1960s have made basketry a decaying trajectory so that it has disappeared from its many traditional centers.
The Basketball Museum of Romas was founded and managed by the Thracian Society.
In the First Hall, the raw materials used by the basket makers, their tools, basket matrices are displayed, while the phases of a basket are plotted from the base to the completion.
Baskets of varying sizes and uses from different parts of Thrace are placed in the second room.
In Gathousa there is a corner of the home of a basketman with objects of everyday use made by Roman artists.
In the Dahthousa there are baskets of the Greeks of the Black Sea, the Pomaks of the Rhodope mountain as well as samples of knitting items from Eastern Thrace.
