The Folklore Museum of Beroia in the mansion of Sarapoglou occupies a dominant position on a typical building island that extends around the post-Byzantine church of Panagia Valtesinis. The main entrance leads to a large covered courtyard with geometric motifs. On the first floor, the rooms open to a wide-open hall with raised galleries on both sides and glazed to the courtyard.
The original phase of the mansion dates back to the 18th century, with successive owners A.Kambouronikos, G. Petra and K. Sarapoglou. In the second half of the 19th century, it acquires the image of a rich urban home with numerous rooms and remarkable interior decoration, which was removed during the First World War by the officers of Adat. The restoration work was aimed at housing the Folk Museum of the city.
