The Archaeological Museum of Marathon is located at Vrana Marathon, in a land expropriated by the Ministry of Culture, which also includes the sheltered burial mound of the Middle Bronze Age (2000-1600 BC) and the so-called 5th century Plateau . B.C.
The Museum was built in 1975 at the expense of the expatriate businessman Evgenios Panagopoulos. In 2004, the building was renovated, re-exposed to antiquities, and a new shelter was built in the Middle Bronze Age Tombstone as part of the Olympic preparations.
The exhibition unfolds in five halls and on the covered patio and includes findings from the Neolithic to the late Roman period.
