The Andros Museum of Modern Art – Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation in Andros was inaugurated in 1979.
In addition to the work of Andriotis sculptor M. Tombrou, which is the core of his collection, the collection includes works by the most important Greek artists. Along with the Greek collection, which is continuously enriched, the collection is compiled with the works of great foreign artists.
In July 1986, the new Wing of the Museum was inaugurated, with international exhibitions such as: Picasso, Kypka, Matisse, Kandinsky, Balthus, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Paul Klee, as well as Greek artists: Bouziani, Galani and in collaboration with The National Gallery exhibitions: KN Karagatsis, N. Chatzikyriakou-Ghika, D. Mitaras, A. Fassianou, G. Gaitis, O. Zounis and others.
